Deanna Horner is Chief Pharmacy Officer at Waltz Health, a digital health company transforming the pharmaceutical marketplace to improve medication access and affordability. She leads clinical and regulatory compliance, provides thought leadership grounded in provider and payer expertise, and advances innovative medication access models.
Deanna brings more than 20 years of experience across provider and payer settings. She began her career as a critical care pharmacist at UCSF Medical Center, later developing inpatient and outpatient pharmacy programs at Tenet while supporting automation and clinical informatics initiatives. She spent nearly eight years at UnitedHealthcare, where she built quality, clinical, and specialty programs. Before joining Waltz Health, she served as Chief Pharmacy Officer for UnitedHealthcare’s Government Programs, overseeing formulary strategy, manufacturer negotiations, clinical programs, utilization policy, specialty drug management, and clinical operations.
Deanna serves on the Boards of the Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA) and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) Foundation. She lives in Aurora, Illinois with her husband and two daughters, and enjoys golf, pickleball, group fitness, reading, the arts, and travel.
