Associate Medical Director, Abbott’s Diabetes Care Business

Dr. Anila Bindal is Associate Medical Director for Abbott’s diabetes care business in the U.S. 

As an endocrinologist, Dr. Bindal understands the challenges people living with diabetes face when managing their condition. For more than a decade, she’s dedicated her time to making diabetes care management easier for her patients while also sharing how food and movement can be a form of medicine. 

Since joining Abbott in 2022, Dr. Bindal’s focus has been on diabetes education, clinical research, and advocating for greater access to life-changing diabetes technology, like Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre portfolio of continuous glucose monitors.   

In addition to her role at Abbott, Dr. Bindal currently practices part-time as an endocrinologist at Erie Health Center in Chicago to help the west side region’s medically underserved residents.  

Before joining Abbott, Dr. Bindal was a practicing endocrinologist in Chicago at Northwestern Medicine most recently, and Rush University Medical Center prior to that, where she co-founded its Cardiometabolic Center.  

She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, and a medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin.
